07.30.2019 – Old Testament: Psa 60.1–3
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 59–61 on July 30, In the year of our Lord 2019
By Don Ruhl
David and Israel fought a war. Afterward he wrote Psalm 60. He knew that God had humbled Israel, and he confessed it to God,
O God, You have cast us off;
You have broken us down;
You have been displeased;
Oh, restore us again!
You have made the earth tremble;
You have broken it;
Heal its breaches, for it is shaking.
You have shown Your people hard things;
You have made us drink the wine of confusion.
– Psalm 60.1–3
As you could see, David also knew that God was the only One who could lift Israel back up, for if He humbled Israel, He could also exalt Israel.
