New Testament: Rom 11.34–35
To read the Bible in a year, read Romans 11.22–36 on August 12, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
Paul concluded his dissertation on the mercy of God at Romans 11.32. As he thought about what God did to bring salvation to the world, Paul broke forth in praise of the wisdom, knowledge, judgments, and ways of God. Then, quoting from the Old Testament, Paul asked a series of questions about God:
“For who has known the mind of the LORD?
Or who has become His counselor?”
“Or who has first given to Him
And it shall be repaid to him?”– Romans 11.34–35
Has anyone, man or woman, so known the mind of the Lord that he or she knows how to instruct the Lord? Can someone counsel the Lord on what He should do?
Name any person who first gave to Him and that God has to repay that person.
Do you see how no one can answer these questions?
Questions:
- What do you think of Paul’s questions?
- Do you seek to have the Lord’s mind?
