Old Testament: Psa 110.5–7
To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 109–111 on August 18, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
Psalm 110 is a messianic psalm, meaning that it prophesied of the coming Messiah or the Christ. David began by stating that the LORD (meaning the Father), invited the Lord (meaning the Christ), to sit at His right hand. Later in the Psalm, as David spoke to God the Father, David said:
The Lord is at Your right hand;
He shall execute kings in the day of His wrath.
He shall judge among the nations,
He shall fill the places with dead bodies,
He shall execute the heads of many countries.
He shall drink of the brook by the wayside;
Therefore He shall lift up the head.– Psalm 110.5–7
The Christ does not sit idly at the right hand of God, but carries out judgment because the Father has given full authority to His Christ to judge the world. That Christ is Jesus of Nazareth and He came to teach us the way of life that we might avoid condemnation in the Judgment.
Questions:
- Are you prepared to meet Jesus the Christ at the Judgment?
- Has He forgiven you of your sins?
