New Testament: Rom 16.1–2
To read the Bible in a year, read Romans 16 on August 18, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
How did Paul get what we call the Book of Romans to the Roman church? Paul wrote of a woman, Phoebe, who carried his letter to the church, which is why he said:
I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea, that you may receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints, and assist her in whatever business she has need of you; for indeed she has been a helper of many and of myself also.
– Romans 16.1–2
This woman devoted herself to serving her local congregation. She helped many people and she helped Paul, including taking his letter to the church at Rome.
Ladies, open your eyes and you will see many people in your congregation who need you.
Questions:
- How do you help your local congregation?
- Will you do whatever needs to be done?
