The church at Corinth had a brother who had married his father’s wife (thus his step-mother). What was their attitude about this?

And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you.

– 1 Corinthians 5.2

Unbelievable! They gloried in having a member of the church there who had done such a thing. Perhaps they thought of themselves as progressive and simply living under the grace of God.
