New Testament: Gal 6.13
To read the Bible in a year, read Galatians 6 on September 28, In the year of our Lord Christ 2019
By Don Ruhl
Some teachers we call Judaizers had infiltrated the churches in the region of Galatia in modern Turkey. They were persuading new Christians to receive circumcision in order to be saved, yet, they were not keeping other parts of the Law of Moses.
Then Paul revealed their motive:
For not even those who are circumcised keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
– Galatians 6.13
If they were truly concerned about keeping the Law, they would have kept all of it, but they only sought to impose circumcision upon Gentile converts, an obvious sign of conversion, that the Judaizers might boast of the numbers of people they had “converted.”
Questions:
- Are you converted to Christ or to a pet doctrine?
- To what do you convert people?
