11.04.2019 – New Testament: Heb 1.10
To read the Bible in a year, read Hebrews 1 on November 4, In the year of our Lord 2019
By Don Ruhl
The opening argument of the Book of Hebrews shows that Jesus is greater than the angels. The writer made this point by quoting Old Testament passages. Notice this one,
“You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.”
– Hebrews 1.10
The writer began to quote Psalm 102.25–27, but I have only quoted the part where he quoted Psalm 102.25. Note this: Both the psalmist and the writer of the Book of Hebrews addressed Jesus, showing that He is divine and that we worship Him by speaking to Him.
Questions:
- What does it mean that Jesus is Lord?
- Can you speak Psalm 102.25 to Jesus even as the Hebrew writer did?
