Why God Preserved Noah

Genesis Bible Background

Old Testament: Gen 7.1

To read the Bible in a year, read Genesis 6–8 on January 3, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020

By Don Ruhl

Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord, but he was also a just man, who was perfect in his generations, and walked with God (Genesis 6.8–9). God also told Noah:

Then the LORD said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.”

– Genesis 7.1

The world may ridicule you for seeking righteousness, but the God of heaven will bless you.

Questions:

  • What are you willing to endure for the Lord’s sake?
  • How do you think Noah managed to be righteous while everyone in the world was wicked?
