How much have you accomplished by worrying?

Matthew Bible Background

New Testament: Matt 6.27

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 6 on January 7, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020

Have you worried in the past? Are you a worrying now? If so, Jesus has a question for you:

“Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?”

– Matthew 6.27

Answer His question? Can you add a cubit (a minimum of 18 inches) to your height by worrying? Can you do anything else by worrying? I am going to guess that you said no to both questions.

Why then worry? Perhaps we think that if we do not worry, we show that we do not care, or that we are unaware of potential problems.

Yet, if worrying does not prevent those problems, why worry? Let us do what we can, and then know that God has the rest in His hand.

Questions:

  • Why do you worry?
  • Is worry the same as concern?
