Jesus rebuked cities

Matthew Bible Background

New Testament: Matt 11.20

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 11 on January 14, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020

By Don Ruhl

Jesus expects individuals to repent, but He also expects whole cities to repent, especially if good works have been done there previously:

– Matthew 11.20

Cities exist for good things. People should be able to go to a city and good. Likewise, when the disciples of Jesus enter a town, they bring good things for the people there, but if the towns people reject those things, they can expect doom from the Lord.

Questions:

  • Do you do good works in your town?
  • What is the spiritual status of your town?
