Old Testament: Gen 49.22
To read the Bible in a year, read Genesis 49–50 on January 21, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
As Jacob was about to die, he called his family together and declared the future of what the sons, who would become tribes, would be like. Of Joseph, Jacob began by saying:
“Joseph is a fruitful bough,
A fruitful bough by a well;
His branches run over the wall.”– Genesis 49.22
His tribe, which would become two tribes, would be as he was, fruitful in spite of all that was against them. What happened to Joseph would have ruined most other people with bitterness, but not him, he kept his eyes on God and saw his life from God’s view.
