Old Testament: Exo 32.21
To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 31–33 on February 3, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
Moses stayed on Mount Sinai for over a month. The people got impatient and wanted Aaron, the brother of Moses, to do something. So he made a golden calf and the people worshiped it. When Moses came down from the mountain and saw what had happened, he had a good question for his older brother:
And Moses said to Aaron, “What did this people do to you that you have brought so great a sin upon them?”
– Exodus 32.21
What could the people have possibly done to cause the high priest of Israel to make an idol? Aaron gave a weak and misleading reply because I think he knew there was no answer.
Questions:
- Has someone persuaded you to sin?
- If so, why did you give in?
