New Testament: Matt 24.1–2
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 24.1–22 on February 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
Imagine seeing the temple of God in Jerusalem! Now that was something that should have lasted forever in the minds of the disciples, after all it was the temple of God! The disciples showed Jesus the various buildings associated with the temple but then He said something that showed it would not be around forever:
Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
– Matthew 24.1–2
What He said of the temple, we must say about all earthly things. Everything that you can see right now, shall someday be gone. The only exception are the people.
Therefore, do not put your hope on anything on the earth, but put your hope in heaven where your hope will not disappoint.
Questions:
- What do you show visitors to your town?
- What is the greatest natural sight on earth that you have ever seen?
