New Testament: Mark 7.33
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 7.14–37 on February 28, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
You read the title correctly, Jesus spat. He created man with the ability to spit because sometimes there is a need for it. However, He spit when healing a man of deafness and the inability to speak:
And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue.
– Mark 7.33
Why did such a method help this man? It helped because Jesus had the power and the authority to heal people in whatever manner He decided to use at that moment.
Questions:
- Where did Jesus spit?
- Did Jesus have to put His fingers in the man’s ears?
