Absalom formed a conspiracy to take the kingdom from his father David, and fearing for his life and those who sided with him, David fled the country. It was a sad time in Israel,
And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people crossed over. The king himself also crossed over the Brook Kidron, and all the people crossed over toward the way of the wilderness.
– 2 Samuel 15.23
When a country is divided, it is not a good time in that nation. Suspicions arise and false accusations are made. When those times come, remember all the teachings of the Bible and do not get caught up in the politics, but remember that Jesus is your King.
