The Lord is our shelter

Psalms Bible Background

Old Testament: Psa 143.9

To read the Bible in a year, read Psalms 142–144 on August 30, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020

By Don Ruhl

When a soldier is chased by an enemy, what does he do? He finds shelter or a safe place to hide. That is what the Lord is to us:

Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies;
In You I take shelter.

– Psalm 143.9

Likewise, tell the Lord that you have enemies, but that you are taking shelter in him. If you are living in righteousness, he will help you.

Questions:

  • Who are your enemies?
  • Who are the enemies of the church?
