Old Testament: Isa 25.6–8
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 24–26 on October 2, In the year of our Lord 2020
By Don Ruhl
We have come to Mount Zion, the church of the living God. On this mountain, God gives blessings and takes away sin:
And in this mountain
The LORD of hosts will make for all people
A feast of choice pieces,
A feast of wines on the lees,
Of fat things full of marrow,
Of well-refined wines on the lees.
And He will destroy on this mountain
The surface of the covering cast over all people,
And the veil that is spread over all nations.
He will swallow up death forever,
And the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces;
The rebuke of His people
He will take away from all the earth;
For the LORD has spoken.
– Isaiah 25.6–8
Truly in Christ, in the church, we have a continual feast that goes beyond anything we ever imagined, but we can also see how He has removed what separated the nations and brought us together in the church. If you have ever traveled to another nation and met with the church there, you will know what Isaiah means in this passage.
- What do you treasure the most in Christ?
- What do love about being a member of the church?
