Old Testament: Isa 33.2–4
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 31–33 on October 5, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
Isaiah declared God’s woe upon those who plunder when they have not been plundered, who deal treacherously when they have not been dealt with treacherously )Isaiah 33.1). Then the prophet said:
O LORD, be gracious to us;
We have waited for You.
Be [our] arm every morning,
Our salvation also in the time of trouble.
At the noise of the tumult the people shall flee;
When You lift Yourself up, the nations shall be scattered;
And Your plunder shall be gathered
Like the gathering of the caterpillar;
As the running to and fro of locusts,
He shall run upon them.– Isaiah 33.2–4
Those who plunder and treat others treacherously shall be in serious trouble when the Lord arises to avenge His people. He will scatter everyone, everyone who fights and harms His people.
Questions:
- Have you plundered and acted treacherously?
- What did you do when it happened to you?
