Old Testament: Isa 40.15–17
To read the Bible in a year, read Isaiah 39–40 on October 8, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020
By Don Ruhl
If you held an empty bucket in one hand and someone put one drop of water in it, would you notice the sudden increase in weight?
If you pulled out your kitchen scale and blew the dust off the tray, would the scale note the decrease in weight?
That is how much the nations are in God’s sight, as Isaiah wrote:
Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket,
And are counted as the small dust on the scales;
Look, He lifts up the isles as a very little thing.
And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn,
Nor its beasts sufficient for a burnt offering.
All nations before Him are as nothing,
And they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless.– Isaiah 40.15–17
Therefore, do not let the affairs of the nations concern you too much, but focus continually upon the mightiness of the God of heaven!

- How often do you think of God and His greatness?
- How does it affect you when you do?
