New Testament: 1Th 3.5
To read the Bible in a year, read First Thessalonians 3 on October 15, In the year of our Lord 2020

Persecution drove Paul’s evangelistic team out of Thessalonica. However, that meant leaving behind new converts without adequate support. Would they remain faithful to the Lord with the preachers gone and persecuting pressure from their fellow Thessalonians? Paul sent Timothy back to find out:
For this reason, when I could no longer endure it, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor might be in vain.
– 1 Thessalonians 3.5
Paul had nothing to gain from the faithfulness of the Thessalonians, except for a blessing from the Lord when He returns. Paul just had a genuine concern for people that he had taught and brought out of darkness.
Questions:
- What do you think about new Christians?
- What do you do to help them remain faithful to the Lord?
