New Testament: 1Th 5.18
To read the Bible in a year, read First Thessalonians 5 on October 17, In the year of our Lord Christ 2020

In my judgment, something that sets the Christian apart from the world is his manner of living in all circumstances, but especially when a Christian does what Paul said here:
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
– 1 Thessalonians 5.18
In everything, in whatever issue of life you face, find a reason to give thanks. Why should you do that? Among the many reasons that Paul could have listed was the fact that it is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus. If the Lord wants it, that should be good enough for us.
Questions:
- Can you find things for which to be thankful in all circumstances?
- Can you put fulfilling God’s will above doing your will?
