New Testament: Matt 18.23
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 18.21–35 on January 26, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
Jesus spoke a parable that began with these words:
“Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.”
– Matthew 18.23
The king of the kingdom of heaven is Jesus Christ. He wants to settle accounts with His servants. Some of that He does now, and the rest of it He does later at the Judgment. Be sure that you have been a responsible servant, and if not, fix matters now while you still can.
One of the chief things Jesus addressed in the parable was forgiveness. We can obtain forgiveness from Him, but then we have to forgive our fellow servants. If not, we will pay an eternal price.
Questions:
- Is forgiveness easy or hard for you?
- Have others forgiven you?
