Old Testament: Exo 23.9
To read the Bible in a year, read Exodus 22–24 on January 30, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
What do you do when a stranger, a visitor, comes to the worship services of your congregation? Think of how you felt when you were a visitor some place. Think of how the other person feels, and it will help you to know what to do. As the Lord told Israel:
“Also you shall not oppress a stranger, for you know the heart of a stranger, because you were strangers in the land of Egypt.”
– Exodus 23.9
Certainly do not make the stranger feel like a stranger, but have the heart of a stranger yourself and you will automatically be what that person needs for you to be.
Questions:
- When you were a stranger, how did others treat you?
- Did you grow up in the church, or are you a newcomer?
