New Testament: Matt 23.33
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 23.23–39 on February 5, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
In Matthew 23, Jesus exposed the scribes and Pharisees. They looked good to men, but Jesus knew what these people were actually like and it is not a pretty picture. As He neared the end of His speech, He said:
“Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?”
– Matthew 23.33
With the way they thought, it was inevitable that they would find the condemnation of hell, yet, they had not died, so they still had a chance to change their ways.
Let us examine ourselves to see what the Lord would say of us, and if we find areas that need correction, let us do it, lest we find the condemnation of hell.
Questions:
- What moved you to become a Christian?
- What was a Pharisee?
