New Testament: Mark 5.8–9
To read the Bible in a year, read Mark 5.1–20 on February 23, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
As Jesus cast an unclean spirit out of a man, the spirit pleaded with Jesus not to torment him, and Mark explained:
For He said to him, “Come out of the man, unclean spirit!” Then He asked him, “What is your name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.”
– Mark 5.8–9
The unclean spirit spoke as one, but acted as many. This is a mystery, but we can know that they do not work alone, but gather together to fight humanity and to fight God’s influence in the world. The Book of Revelation shows this truth.
However, if you are with the Lord, you are on the winning side, which is the majority side, for one person and the Lord make the majority.
Questions:
- Do you believe that with the Lord you are more powerful than demons?
- What does it mean to you that Jesus is Lord?
