New Testament: Luke 17.19
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 17.1–19 on April 19, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021

We talk about the power of faith, and I think I know what people mean. However, it is not so much the faith itself, but that faith connects you to the power.
When Jesus healed ten lepers, and sent them away, one returned when he saw that he was healed. One of the things that Jesus said to the man was this:
“Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”
– Luke 17.19
Back in verse 13, the ten men cried out to Jesus for him to have mercy on them, which meant to heal them. They believed that he could and would do it.
Jesus told this man that his faith had made him well, that is, the man had faith in Jesus and having that faith led to the healing. It was not the faith that did the healing, but the faith connected him to Jesus, who has the power.
- How did Jesus refer to this man in verse 18?
- Do you live by faith, following the directions of the Lord in the Scriptures, trusting that his way is the right and only way to live?
