New Testament: Acts 13.23
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 13.1–23 on July 5, In the year of our Lord Christ 2021
By Don Ruhl
Paul and Barnabas entered a synagogue in Antioch of Pisidia and the rulers of the synagogue invited them to speak. Part of what Paul said was this:
“From this man’s seed [David, DR], according to the promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior—Jesus—“
– Acts 13.23
The Bible makes a clear line from David to Jesus. That alone does not mean that Jesus is the promised Savior, but he could not be that Savior unless he was of David. The Bible presents every reason to believe that Jesus is the Savior, first of Israel, then of the world. Nevertheless, many still do not believe.
We have much work yet to do.
- What persuaded you that Jesus is the Savior of the world?
- Have you persuaded any that Jesus is the Savior?
