Pride is so dangerous, because when we are full of pride we believe that we are right and no one can refute us. We believe that we know what is right and best, and all other people are ignorant. 

The nation of Edom was like that and the Lord knew it. He said to them: 

“The pride of your heart has deceived you,
You who dwell in the clefts of the rock,
Whose habitation is high;
You who say in your heart,
‘Who will bring me down to the ground?’”

– Obadiah 3 

My question is: Where is Edom today? The nation is gone and it did not just disappear last year. It has been gone for a long time. Edom thought that no one could defeat them, but the Lord brought them down, as He promised to do in verse 4. 

Never think that you cannot be refuted, replaced, defeated, humiliated, or in any other way be brought down. If you do, the Lord may show you who is the only high one.
