New Testament: Matt 25.29–30
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 25.1–30 on February 8, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
Most people do not like the idea that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, but whether we like it or not, it happens in the spirit, as Jesus taught:
“For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
– Matthew 25.29–30
It is not easy to go from being poor to being rich in this world, but with the help of God, anything can happen.
However, in the spirit, we can turn things around more easily. The rich in spirit know what it takes to be rich in a spiritual way, so they do it. The poor in spirit generally do not know what it takes, or they know, but do not give the effort necessary to become rich in spirit.
Now is the time for us to turn things around. If you are poor spiritually, you can cease being unprofitable and become profitable simply by following the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, and having done so, you will grow rich in the spirit in Christ.
Questions:
- Are you richer today in the spirit than you were years ago?
- What will happen to unprofitable servants?
