Luke described how powerfully an unclean spirit had possessed a man: 

For [Jesus] had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had often seized him, and he was kept under guard, bound with chains and shackles; and he broke the bonds and was driven by the demon into the wilderness.

–  Luke 8.29 

The Lord does not allow unclean spirits to possess bodies in that manner anymore, but evil still works mightily in the world today. 

We have the tendency to label such things as addictions or we use some other medical terminology, but evil is still at work. 

Think biblically, and then seek biblical solutions to the evils of this world. 

Questions: 

• How had they tried to bind the demon-possessed man? 
• What did the demon do to the man?
