You cannot hide betrayal

New Testament: Luke 22.47–48

To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 22.31–53 on April 30, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022

By Don Ruhl

Judas wanted to make money off Jesus. He found a way to do it. He would go to the enemies of Jesus and see how much they would give him to betray Jesus.

Once he had secured the money, watch how he betrayed Jesus:

And while He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. But Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

– Luke 22.47–48

Judas made it look as though he was a friend of Jesus, yet, by such an action he truly betrayed Jesus, for then they knew who to arrest.

However, Jesus knew what Judas was doing and said so to Judas, but it did not seem to sink in with Judas that Jesus knew.

You may attempt to hide a betrayal, but the truth will come out.
