New Testament: John 15.15
To read the Bible in a year, read John 15 on June 5, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
Jesus said something to the apostles that I believe He would also say to us, if we follow the Lord as the apostles followed Him:
“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.”
– John 15.15
The apostles knew what the Lord was doing, although they would need more revelation in those things later. They also received all things that the Father wanted the Lord Jesus to pass along to the apostles.
In the Scriptures, when we read of the works of the Lord, do we understand what He is doing and why He is doing those things? If so, we are becoming more than just servants, but we are also becoming his friends. Have we received all that the Father wanted Jesus to reveal? If so, if we receive the fullness of biblical teaching, then we are becoming his friends.
Questions:
- Do you seek to understand what the Lord is doing or do you want Him to understand what you are doing?
- Do you accept every teaching of Jesus and what his apostles revealed?
