New Testament: Acts 3.25–26
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 3 on June 18, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
In Genesis 12.3, the Lord God spoke a promise to Abraham upon which the rest of the Bible is built, namely this part:
“And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
– Genesis 12.3
The rest of the Bible develops that promise. In Acts 3, as Peter spoke to the Jews who had crucified Christ, the apostle declared:
“You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”
– Acts 3.25–26
The promised blessing was to send Jesus, who would rise from the dead, and he would bless all the families of the earth by turning them away from their iniquities.
Questions:
- Have you gone to Christ and turned away from your iniquities that he might forgive you?
- What is iniquity?
