New Testament: Acts 11.22
To read the Bible in a year, read Acts 11 on July 3, In the year of our Lord Christ 2022
By Don Ruhl
The disciples of Jesus who left Jerusalem because of the persecution that started with Stephen, preached everywhere they went. Many who heard them, believed and turned to the Lord Jesus Christ.
When the church in Jerusalem heard this report, they knew that they needed to send someone who could encourage the new converts:
Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch.
– Acts 11.22
Barnabas was a good man to give encouragement, for he was known as an encourager. There is a time to warn, and there is a time to encourage. Wise is the church that knows when to do each one.
Questions:
- With what other preacher did Barnabas also work?
- Are you encourager?
