Old Testament: Psa 119.137–144

If the Lord is righteous, would not his judgments then be upright? If not, then he is not righteous. However, the psalmist declared: 

Righteous are You, O LORD,
And upright are Your judgments.

– Psalm 119.137 

If a man doubts such a statement, just watch how the world goes. When the world does not follow the Lord’s judgments, that man suffers for it. When he follows the Lord’s judgments, he leads a successful life. That being the case, the Lord is righteous for what he says proves to be true. 

Such a thought led the psalmist to continue to praise God and his word. He showed God that his word was the basis of his life, as the psalmist continued to say: 

Your testimonies, which You have commanded,
Are righteous and very faithful.
My zeal has consumed me,
Because my enemies have forgotten Your words.
Your word is very pure;
Therefore Your servant loves it.
I am small and despised,
Yet I do not forget Your precepts.
Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness,
And Your law is truth.
Trouble and anguish have overtaken me,
Yet Your commandments are my delights.
The righteousness of Your testimonies is everlasting;
Give me understanding, and I shall live.

– Psalm 119.138–144 

Do what the psalmist did and tell the Lord what you think of him and his word. Tell him that you base everything on what he says.
