How did the early Christians show their love for one another? I think one way was how they greeted one another: 

The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

– 1 Corinthians 16.19 

Do you not greet those whom you love? Should we not love our brothers and sisters in Christ? If we love them, we should greet them, and do so heartily, for we are one in the Spirit, and we think alike, and we will spend eternity together.

• Do you like hearty greetings? 
• Do you greet your brethren or do you wait for them to come to you?
