First, God gave the Promise to Abraham and later he gave the Law through Moses, but the latter did not remove the former: 

And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.

– Galatians 3.17 

God never contradicts himself. If we think we have found a contradiction, upon further investigation, it will be discovered that we misunderstood him. 

The Law worked in harmony with the Promise. Approach the word of God with the understanding that everything harmonizes or can be explained, and you will do well in your understanding of the word of God.
