When do we stop sacrificing? I do not read anywhere in the Scriptures where the Lord limits our sacrificing. Why would he limit it when he himself gave without limit? 

Therefore, it does not surprise me to read of Paul’s willingness to sacrifice repeatedly for the sake of the gospel. After Paul converted a bondservant of a friend, Paul wrote to that friend, urging him to take back his runaway servant. Part of the apostle’s persuasion was this: 

I, Paul, am writing with my own hand. I will repay—not to mention to you that you owe me even your own self besides.

– Philemon 19 

He said those things because if Onesimus, the runaway, owed Philemon anything, Paul would pay it, but then Paul added that Philemon owed his life to Paul. 

How could Philemon refuse such a request from a friend of that nature?
