New Testament: Matt 9.3
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 9.1–17 on January 10, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
After Jesus forgave the sins of a man, the scribes accused Jesus of a grave sin:
And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!”
– Matthew 9.3
Those scribes did not know Jesus. That led to a false charge of blaspheme. As God, Jesus could (and can) forgive all people of all their sins. Therefore, to speak against Jesus for forgiving someone and to charge him with blasphemy is to commit blaspheme!
Let us think carefully on who Jesus is and be sure that we speak accurately of him.
Questions:
- Has Jesus forgiven you of all your sins?
- Have you forgiven others of their sins?
