New Testament: Matt 10.5–6
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 10.1–23 on January 12, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023

For me, preaching is the highest calling. Now, notice this:
These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
– Matthew 10.5–6
Matthew wrote that Jesus included all twelve of the disciples. If you look back at Matthew 10.4 you will see the last-named apostle, Judas Iscariot, who later betrayed Jesus.
We see Judas as the betrayer, but for today think of him as a preacher. For three and a half years Jesus trained Judas as a preacher. And as our text for today shows, Judas did some preaching! Picture Judas preaching the good news of the kingdom of God and then see how Judas turned his back on all the good things of heaven.
Be sure not to follow his latter path.
