New Testament: Matt 11.21–22
To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 11 on January 14, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
Tyre and Sidon experienced the wrath of God for their sins, yet, their sins were not nearly as great as the cities that rejected Jesus:
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.”
– Matthew 11.21–22
Jesus did not minimize the sin of Tyre and Sidon. He maximized the sin of Chorazin and Bethsaida! The sin of rejecting the Christ cannot be surpassed. You are searching the Scriptures, learning about the Christ. Please do not give up this soul-saving practice that you may never reject the Christ.
Questions:
- Can you find these four cities on a Bible map?
- Have you accepted the truth that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God?
