We do not want to die. We want to live. And the Lord knows those things about us, because he created us to have that instinct. 

However, when it comes to following Jesus or following the world, we have to make a decision that will lead us to losing our lives now and forever, or that will leads us to finding our lives now and forever. Jesus said: 

“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

– Matthew 16.25 

Watch the people of the world make their lives on the earth the most important thing in their minds, and you will see their lives go downhill eventually. Watch the people of the Spirit make their lives in Christ the most important thing in their minds, and you will see their lives get better all the time.
