There is only one Christ

New Testament: Matt 24.5

To read the Bible in a year, read Matthew 24.1–22 on February 6, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023

By Don Ruhl

Even before the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, men would arise claiming to be the Christ, as Jesus warned:

“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.”

– Matthew 24.5

Since that time many more have arisen claiming to be the Christ, and just as Jesus prophesied that it would happen in the first century, so it has happened since then, that these false christs have deceived many.

How can you avoid such a deception? Keep your nose in God’s Book, meditating daily on what it teaches, for then you will never go astray.

Questions:

  • Have you been led astray before?
  • What brought you back?
