Old Testament: Lev 6.24–25
To read the Bible in a year, read Leviticus 4–6 on February 8, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
The thing that separates man from God is man’s sin. Therefore, anything in regard to sin, such as the sin offering that the children of Israel made, God considered to be most significant, or as Leviticus 6 says:
Also the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is killed, the sin offering shall be killed before the LORD. It is most holy.”
– Leviticus 6.24–25
It was not just holy, but most holy before the Lord. He takes our sin very seriously, and so he took Israel’s offerings for sin very seriously.
We can see just how serious an offering for sin is, when we consider that the God of heaven offered up his Son for our sin that we might be free from it.
Questions:
- Do you believe you understand the horrendous nature of your sin?
- What do you think about Jesus offering his life for you?
