Old Testament: Num 26.12–18
To read the Bible in a year, read Numbers 24–27 on March 1, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
When Moses took the second census of Israel, he gave the numbers for Simeon and Gad:
The sons of Simeon according to their families were…twenty-two thousand two hundred. The sons of Gad according to their families were…forty thousand five hundred.
– Numbers 26.12–18
It is amazing to see the phenomenal growth of Israel while in Egypt. The tribe of Simeon numbered 22,200 and Gad numbered 40,500 during the second census. That was just two of the 12 tribes!
Not many people are well known from those tribes, but the Lord knew every single one, even knowing the number of hairs on their heads.
No one goes unnoticed by the Lord. He knows your struggles and he knows your successes. He knows your weaknesses and he knows your strengths.
Questions:
- Can you name anyone well known from those tribes?
- How well does the world know you?
- How well do you think the Lord knows you?
