Do you have trouble understanding parts of the word of God? Do what the disciples did when they did not understand what he meant: 

Then His disciples asked Him, saying, “What does this parable mean?”

– Luke 8.9 

Yes, you can ask a preacher, a teacher, or other Christian whom you believe knows the word of God, and, yes, you can consult a commentary, but do not forget to ask the One who gave us the word.
