New Testament: Luke 13.24
To read the Bible in a year, read Luke 13.22–35 on April 12, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
Do not expect to glide into heaven. When a man asked Jesus, “Lord, are there few who are saved?” Jesus began to answer:
“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.”
– Luke 13.24
God the Father sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins, and to save us from eternal condemnation to eternal life. We cannot expect an effortless ride into heaven.
If Jesus suffered for us, does it not make sense that we would have to strive with Him through the narrow gate into heaven?
Questions:
- Are you striving to enter through the narrow gate?
- How does it affect you when Christians do not strive to enter the narrow gate?
