Jesus was first and foremost a teacher and a preacher. Therefore, at every opportunity He taught people, even when He was going toward Jerusalem where He knew that He would experience humiliation and death: 

When He had said this, He went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

– Luke 19.28 

He finished teaching and then resumed his journey to the great city that would kill Him. Let us think as Jesus did that we should always be teaching, even as we head toward death.
