New Testament: John 4.21
To read the Bible in a year, read John 4.1–30 on May 12, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
Jesus asked for a drink of water from a woman who had come to the well where He had stopped to rest. He quickly turned it into a discussion on matters of the spirit and worship. She brought up a controversy about the proper place of worship, whether it was Samaria or Jerusalem, but He said to her:
“Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.”
– John 4.21
Shortly, He would make worship of the Father a worldwide phenomenon, a matter for more than just the Jews and so worship would not be restricted to Jerusalem or Samaria, but it would occur in another place.
Questions:
- What was the other place where worship is to happen?
- Do you worship the Father?
- Do you worship in that new place?
