New Testament: John 8.24
To read the Bible in a year, read John 8.21–36 on May 22, In the year of our Lord Christ 2023
By Don Ruhl
Just who is Jesus of Nazareth? The Bible makes it clear that it is absolutely necessary to believe that he is the Christ, if we expect to be saved.
Jesus put it another way: “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” (John 8.24).
We will die in our sins, if we do not believe that Jesus is the One whom God has sent to take away our sins. Therefore, if we reject Jesus as the Chosen One, then how can we expect to find the forgiveness of our sins? That in turn means that we shall appear before God in our sin.
If you do not yet believe in Jesus, keep reading the Gospel Accounts and learn quickly who he is.
Questions:
- If you do not believe Jesus to be the Christ, whom do you believe him to be?
- Have you sought forgiveness of your sins through Christ?
